We enjoyed a lovely breakfast with my mum, dad, Bree and Nick and a MASS present opening Christmas morning.

Then up the road to Auntie Di's for a wonderful lunch with the Preston's. Harper LOVED the swim in Di's pool and watching the kids (and adults!) do their crazy bomb dives!

Agnes Waters Trip

After our venue fell through for the wedding we headed back to find us another location! Lucky enough we came up with a back up plan.

Agnes put on some fabulous weather for us and the beaches were gorgeous. So FINGERS CROSSED it will do it again for us in April :-)

I had seen the idea of a 1st birthday "cake smash" so I wondered if we could manage to do it at home minus the big price tag. Below pics are the results and I must say I am pretty proud ;-)
The cake was a monster! Harper of course didn't fail to impress and lucky she didn't eat overly alot of the cake other wise I may have had trouble!

There was such a big countdown to 'the' wedding of Brett & Anna and now the day has been lived. It was was gorgeous wedding and a big night filled with catch ups, to much wine and alot of dancing. A big congratulations to the happy couple.

A trip to the zoo

Mum and Dad currently have Line from Switzerland staying with them for a month for her to better her English. Mum and Dom (Line's mum) have been friends for as long as I can remember. So they have been exploring the sites from Cairns to Brisbane and of course a extensive tour of Central Queensland. So we have made a couple of trips to the Zoo and Gardens now. I love it there. Such a great place for kids and a walk around. (plus good coffee at the cafe!) Free entry into the Zoo and Line thought patting the Koala was excellent!

The dogs new coats arrived today in the mail! I think they like them as it has been cold of a night. As soon as we put them on they got very frisky and were all over each other lol.

Our trip to Hervey Bay

We met up with the Myska family in Hervey Bay on the weekend. It was so great to get away for a couple of nights and catch up. Little Aneska was such a mother hen and was not far from Harper's side the whole weekend. She would walk along holding onto the pram and onto Harper's hand, so adorable but made a very slow pace! The weather was fantastic also so a brave dip into the pool wasn't to bad ;-) We also managed a coffee with Auntie Elaine which was lovely. Harper was not giving out free cuddles as usual (and sorry about the aquarium mix up Arnie!)

The "Festival of the Wind"

Last month Mum, Harper and I took a trip to Emu Park to experience the "Festival of the Wind". To think we almost didn't go, it was such a lovely day. After digging around the markets for some bargain's we found a spot in the park and watched all the gorgeous kites flying. From the huge animals high in the sky to the smaller kites flown by all the little kids, they were wonderful. I think there was also a fantastic mood in the air as we hadn't seen much nice weather of late so everybody was soaking up the sun. I will defiantly be taking Harper to it again in the years to come.

Mother's Day

We had a lovely day spent with both our dear Mum's.
A breakfast down in Yeppoon with my mum, dad & Breezy then back to Bouldy for dinner with Mick's mum, dad, Jody, Pete and boys and the rest of the Bouldy clan.

Harper is her daddy's daughter in this photo! Getting all dressed up for the wedding. We came across the rain within half and hour of leaving Brisbane and did not see it stop until we packed the car up to leave Stanthorpe. It was a wet, soggy, cold weekend but that did not hinder the wedding celebration of Petr and Rachel. The theme was all things vintage and all the guests looked fabulous! A beautiful service performed by Rachel's dad Christopher and a fantastic party organized by Rachel's mum & 3 sisters.
I'm not to sure if I have ever entered a wedding reception room to see the band in full swing and half the guests dancing away at the start of the evening. The hall was gorgeous, filled with candles and fairy lights. The band was absolutely fantastic and the guests danced the night away. It was very entertaining ;-)
Stanthorpe lived up to its reputation and was very cold but I think the rain did not help. We had little Harper rugged up for most the weekend but the cold did not seem to bother her. She travelled remarkably well and sleep most the way in the car. I think we only had 2 major tantrums the whole weekend so a success in my eyes! A wonderful weekend. I wish Rachel & Petr a wonderful future together.

I was determined to get Harper swimming as soon as possible and terrible for it I guess! Unfortunately the pool was on the chilly side and it took some convincing that is was a nice thing to do for the poor little mermaid in the making. We did manage to get some smiles through the grumbles so hopefully next time she will enjoy it more ;-) Still not happy!

Being cut off from Rocky and food supplies for 2 weeks and bread rationing in Gladstone left our supplies a tad depleted. Mick has wanted a bread maker for some time so this was the perfect excuse to now invest in one. After doing his research online he then packed Harper and I into the car and we headed to Gladstone (our 3rd visit in 3 weeks! We are getting to know the place very well) We had heard they are very temperamental so Mick was so proud that his first 2 loafs were perfect as bread can be ;-)

Oh my gosh! Here she is! We still can not believe we have made this gorgeous little baby girl. Mick and I have spent hours starring at her and we are completely smitten ;-) I've always wanted a tiny little baby girl with lots of dark hair and here she is just a I ordered!

I am completely loving motherhood so far and think I have taken to it like a duck to water (even with the seriously long nights and lack of sleep he-he.)

After watching the helicopter land twice everyday right near our room, Mick was keen as mustard to go for a ride. So upon going to the reception to 'investigate' he returned with us booked in for our return trip to Gladstone. I must admit it was very exciting and the view was gorgeous. The reef was a glorious site filled with hundreds of turtles and stingrays. It was fantastic to see the little island in whole that we had been strolling around for 5 days. I felt very posh (and a little nauseous ha-ha) A fabulous end to our holiday.

Finally we got our babymoon! It provided everything I wanted, a beautiful location that provided plenty of sleeping time, eating, swimming and a diamond ring! What a lucky girl I am. The island is tiny so we managed to stroll around it countless times and the snorkeling was fantastic when I wasn't freezing my butt off. We could spot the sharks and stingrays by the dozen in the crystal clear water which we braved knowing they would be more scared of us (although Mick had a run in with a mob of stingrays which scared the bajeeba's out him, it was hilarious for me watching from the shore!)

Canarvon Gorge

A last minute decision and a quick pack up to hit the road to head way out west to Canarvon Gorge. Like a Oasis in the middle of bleak country side really.

We tossed up over putting the tarp up but luckily sense won out as half through our first night a huge storm hit and it poured and poured. The Tent Cot proved it's worth being off the ground so it ended up being so lovely listening to the rain all snuggled up.

Bright and early we hit the hiking trail to see all the recommended sites of Canarvon. And see them we did as walked the whole 23km!! Through the Gorge, over boulders and up loads of stairs. Its was a HUGE day. Can't say I've ever walked for 7 hours straight before. The last 2km's were the worse as we ran out of water and my feet did not want to carry on no longer. Lets just say there were tears. Ha-ha. I lived to tell the tale all the same and enjoyed a well earned beer and a comfy camp chair back at camp that night!

Layla is absolutely obsessed with her ball! To the extent it is driving me nuts as she is never apart from it. Still she got a bran new red ball for her birthday which Stoney promptly stole from her (below). She was not impressed! Stoney's love is water. He loves nothing better than lying under the hose or sprinkler. Bath time for Layla. Mick has to put keep her ball in front of her to keep her settled. Still loves a bath though ;-)

Wade (my cousin) married his beautiful bride Sam in a gorgeous ceremony at Eimeo beach followed by a lavas reception in Mackay city centre. Sam's dress was to die for, absolutely stunning. It was a great family Reunion to catch up with all the rello's. I think Mick and Nick enjoyed themselves toasting Wade well into the night over a many beverages ;-)

Tin Can Bay

After half a year of trying organise a trip away around my birthday to somewhere exotic like the South Pacific I gave up and put it in the to hard basket. Instead I decided to buy a fancy new car! So we made a weekend of going to pick it up from Brisbane. On the way home we stopped into Tin Can Bay for the night. We got a gorgeous villa with a spectacular view of the marina. Mick was quite chuffed that in the end he took me somewhere exotic as our villa was called the "Vanuatu". It was a lovely night. We purposely went to Tin Can Bay to feed the wild dolphins but after a couple of hours waiting, they were no shows! Typical dolphins, never reliable ;-) We did get to look at the cute sea birds & pelicans.

My new car

This birthday I felt very spoilt as I got my new car, Mazda CX7. Well ok, so I still have to pay it off but it was a pretty exciting weekend driving down to pick up my new baby ;-) I am still a proud owner and love driving it every day even if it does mean quite a increase in fuel costs! We waved goodbye to the poor old puslar a couple of weekends later.

Byron Bay & surrounding beaches

I had no idea that as soon a you get over the NSW border how beautiful and clean the beaches would be. The water was crystal clear all along the coast.

Mick got quite annoyed that I wanted to check out all the lighthouses along the way ;-) I think they are interesting he-he.

We were so tired after the BDO that we didn't make it far down before heading home to rest. Will look forward to another trip down that way in the not to distant future!

Lily World was full a strange charaters. Muse was the highlight of the day. What a excellent day. Here I was thinking I wouldn't really like the day due to fear of the crowds of people and the heat. OK so it was VERY Hot and there were LOTS of people but you just manage it. Everyone is there to have a great time and take in all the sites. Would defiantly do it again!

Even our creek (a couple of houses down) was running so I talked Mick into taking a hike up the falls to see if they were running. Its was such a great walk. We even took the pups which proved difficult but funny. Layla gave everything a go as she does but unfortuntly Stoney froze up when it came to crossing the creeks. Poor Mick had to carry through alot of the time. He needs to man up!!

Well Hasn't Mick been spoilt this year. To add to the collection Preston Construction purchased a brand new Bobcat. Mick has had alot of fun testing it out on our yard, leveling and spreading granite. It also come in handy to get the gardens started... it has a very useful HOLE digger! Talk about cutting down the hard labour ;-)

To sweeten the deal Micks' new Land cruiser arrived on Thursday. Very smick. Straight of the boat. I don't think I've even seen such a clean & shiny ute before!!

Here he is our new bundle of joy - Stone. He was abit of a impulse buy as it just seemed so easy and we wanted Layla to have a friend. We are so happy with him. We called him Stone due to his been so fat and round looking and his fabulous colour blue. He is a very fat, cuddly happy boy. Always wagging his tail. Layla & Stone took to each other straight away and play like mad for hours. Layla is a little off with us at the moment but I'm sure she'll love us again soon once she's gotten used to the new family member ;-)

OK, so I don't take photo's of much else but the dog at the moment but of well she's cute!

We heading camping for the weekend at Kellies Landing a few weekends ago. The pup absolutly she loved it! Running around in the dirt, mud & bush!

The weather was perfect apart from a heavy shower one night so not to bad ;-)

We had a huge night on the Friday so the rest of the weekend was spent feeling pretty sorry for ourselves.

We managed to catch 7 huge crabs but no fish. So a pretty ok turn out I think.

Layla LOVED sleeping with us in the tent, to the extent that we woke up in the middle of the night we her between our heads on her back snoring away! Geez spoilt dog!!

Mick's Birthday Present

Well, it has finally arrived. The much anticipated Tent Cot. We ordered it weeks in advance to Mick's bday but it only arrived on the weekend. So obviously its abit to cold at the moment to pack up the ute and head camping just yet so we set it up at home and gave it a run Saturday afternoon. The 3 of us enjoyed a lovely hours kip. Its a thumbs up for the tent cot!

We were bored one Saturday so decided to go buy up big on some pork & yummy snacks and to have a get together at Gum Tree. All the crew turned up in full form and it ended up being a fantastic night! We talked the arvey away whilst taking in the gorgeous aroma's of the pork cooking. By 8ish we were chopping at the bit to get into it but it was well worth the wait! Yum yum! The boys continued drinking well into the night but half of us gave up half due to the extreme cold! Everyone camped out in the lounge under the warmth of the recycle aircon ;-) Our first major sleep over. Apparently the couch & noodle rug are very comfy sleeping spots *lol* Can't wait to have another soon!

Well here she is, our new family member just 6 weeks old. Layla has been keeping us on our toes for the past 2 weeks and she has settled in wonderfully. We have had hardly any sooking through out the night and she is already running around the place like a mad rat. She has mastered the stairs (which Mick thinks she should be fully toilet trained now, if only it is that easy!) I think she is going to be a complete brat as she goes through all the puppy stages but she still will be loved, how could you not she is cute! ;-)

Visiting Rach, Claire, Petr & little Aneska

We had brief catch up with Rachel, Petr & Claire on our last Brissie trip. Enough time to have a yummy dinner with lots of wine and laughs over some miss use of the whip cream! Petr in true form made sure we tasted most of his strong European spirits and there's no saying no to Petr! Little gorgeous Aneska is growing so fast, now 3 months old and is such a cutie. She greeted us with lots of beautiful smiles.

Unfortunately it was brief as I said just enough to farewell Claire before making her long trip back to Scotland after her year working holiday in Aus. I'm sure its the not the last trip for Claire to Aus though! Gone but not forgotten chickie!!

Well here is our new baby girl. She is a special Blue Staffy. We are soooo excited about her arrival and are counting down the days until we can bring her home. Only another 4 weeks to go! We will have to make the trip down to Caboolture to pick her up! We haven't as yet picked a name.. can't rush these things ;-)

With much excitement to meet little Aneska we made the trip down to Brisbane to visit new parents Rachel & Petr. Admittedly I was a little nervous to meet this new addition to Rachel's life but upon arriving I noted not a lot had changed... oh apart from the extra person that would occasional squawk or cry for some attention, food or a nappy change. She is the most adorable little girl and I think Rach & Petr did a wonderful job and will fantastic parents ;-)

St Paddy's Races

What a fantastic day! Tasha came up with the brilliant idea to head to the annual St Paddy's Races. Sandie & Nick made the trip into to Rocky especially.

It was stinking hot and all our hard work on makeup, hair and outfits felt like all for nothing as it all melted and fizzled away but that aside, with the help of some handy plastic plate fans and many bubbles and XXXX's for the boys later we didn't feel the heat at all! I was amazed at my luck by picking 3 winners through out the day and Mick did well with mostly 2nds.

Nearly there! Its needs abit of a clean and some final touches but we are SO happy with the results. There was so much worrying over the colour schemes for this bathroom but it has all come together fantastically and I can't wait to start using it!!

Bouldy Falls

Who would have thought Bouldercombe had to offer an amazing walk up the hill side through bush and creek to numerous flowing waterfalls and swimming holes?

Mick has always been telling me about the falls and how great they were after a big rain. Having a empty Saturday afternoon we decided to take the hike up hillside to see if the falls were flowing. Unfortunately we haven't had enough rain, but the hike was great all the same as the higher we climbed the more waterholes we came across. Managed to find a little quite pool that looked inviting enough to have a swim and cool down in which was lovely.

I can't wait to head back up after some big rain and have some serious swimming time! I think we'll be visiting alot in years to come.. Well, if I can manage the big 2 hour hike again!

At least I now know why Bouldercombe was called Boulder combe ;-)

Fraser Island - Lake McKenzie

The highlight of the trip is the stunning crystal waters of Lake McKenzie. Unfortunately it is the highlight for all the other tourists on the island also but still managed to find our own little spot on the beach. Gorgeous
